Why TWO Blogs?

As more people find this or my other blog at http://www.hogbiker.com I am getting more and more of the “Why two blogs?” So here is the answer.

My personal and motorcycle aspects of my life don’t quite gel well enough for one blog. This is partly because of the “Biker Lifestyle” (free and easy going with little regard for politics, etc.) and the fact that I’m a nerd (sorry, but geek doesn’t really describe me as definitively) which creates two VERY DISPARATE aspects of my psyche. Also, many of my family members are still not happy about the riding my death mobile and prefer to not be reminded of it on the website.

Because of this, I originally created a separate sub-domain for the biker content under the leray.us domain and as it gained popularity and developed a life of it’s own I decided that it needed it’s own space with categories, etc. so that the bikers I know (or find me via the internet) could get the specific biker info and content without having to drudge through the political, family, and general rantings drudgery.

My personal blog is The backwash of a TROUBLED mind after all…and my mind is untroubled when I ride!

Now there will be things I put on both that relate, but honestly most things I want to blog will either be about things that relate to me in a world perspective OR they will be biker related.

I mean there are likely fellow bikers who watch BSG and/or Heroes, etc. but when we meet we won’t be talking about that (it will be about motorcycles)!

Also, my life is pretty much split in two: Fall & Winter – Karl /Spring & Summer – Biker. As many of you know once I put the car away…it’s biker time and most other things tend to lag for the riding season.

If all goes well the connector between the two blogs will become my Twitter page (http://www.twitter.com/hogbiker) as I can tweet stuff that relates to either and the content shows up on both websites. For my fellow tweeters you’ll definately experience the change in content!

So there you have it sports fans…the simple reason for two blogs.
