Happy St. Patrick’s Day!

The Irish Millionaire!

Mick, from Dublin , appeared on ‘Who Wants To Be A Millionaire’ and towards the end of the program had already won 500,000 euros.

“You’ve done very well so far,” said Chris Tarrant, the show’s presenter, ”but for a million euros you’ve only got one life-line left, phone a friend.

Everything is riding on this question. Will you go for it?”

“Sure,” said Mick. “I’ll have a go!”

“Which of the following birds does NOT build its own nest?

a) Sparrow,
b) Thrush,
c) Magpie,
d)Cuckoo?”

“I haven’t got a clue.” said Mick,

”So I’ll use my last lifeline and phone my friend Paddy back home in Dublin ..”

Mick called up his mate, and told him the circumstances and repeated the question to him.

“Fookin hell, Mick!” cried Paddy.

“Dat’s simple it’s a cuckoo.”

“Are you sure?”

“I’m fookin sure!”

Mick hung up the phone and told Chris, ”I’ll go with cuckoo as my answer.”

“Is that your final answer?” asked Chris.

“Dat it is.”

There was a long, long pause and then the presenter screamed, ”Cuckoo is the correct answer! Mick, you’ve won 1 million euros!”

The next night, Mick invited Paddy to their local pub to buy him a drink.

“Tell me, Paddy? How in Heaven’s name did you know it was DA Cuckoo that doesn’t build its own nest?”

“Because he lives in a Fookin clock!”

Belated Holidays From Karl….

During this holiday season I received MANY holiday cards and e-mails. Unfortunately because I’ve been so busy (as usual), I couldn’t send any out myself. So If I could, I’d like to use this as my Christmas Card to everyone who was kind enough to send one to me/I would sent one to….

Dear friend/relative/business associate…

Merry Christmas/Chanukah/Kwanzaa/Ramadan/Solstice/Yule/Voodoo Day!

Boy! What a year it’s been.
Me with my computer work and you doing…whatever it is you do.

Thanks for the Christmas/Kwanzaa/Solstice/Yule card, it was very beautiful and/or humorous.

I enjoyed the photo of your kid or kids.
Boy, he/she/they are REALLY getting big!

Have you seen our mutual friend, if we have one?
Can you believe what he or she is up to?  Boy…some people!

Does your son/daughter/sister/brother/husband/wife still have that drug problem?
All you can do is trust in God, or if you prefer, Voodoo.

How is Granny/Nanna/Mima/YaYa? So-so?

Hey! How about that professional team we both root for?
They should fire or rehire that manager of theirs.  He’s a character!

Well…better go

By the way…
Sorry about not getting around to visiting/calling you that time/those times.

I hope you received many presents from Santa/the “Chanukah Guy”/Voodoo Man.
And that the coming year is as good as/better than/nothing like last year.

Christmas Border 2

Best Wishes
Karl

Happy Chanukah!

Happy Ted Stevens Day

Today would have been Senator Ted Stevens’ 87th birthday. Still miss the man (read what I wrote here) and will always appreciated what he did for his beloved state.

Please recall what a relatively young state Alaska was when Stevens went to DC – and he was able to work both side of the aisle to bring home the things Alaska needed to keep up with the other states. Say what you want, but thanks to the effort of Senators Stevens & Inouye (D Hawaii) we have roads, infrastructure, etc. that is here because of their efforts.

Thanks Ted! You’ll always be DA MAN!

My Mom Was On The Big Alaska Show!

Audio clip: Adobe Flash Player (version 9 or above) is required to play this audio clip. Download the latest version here. You also need to have JavaScript enabled in your browser.

So last Saturday was the day before mother’s day, & we wanted to do something on it for the show. Amazingly, my mother was happy to call in from Orlando & be part of the show.

Everyone that heard it loved my mom!

She was so natural, & now everyone will know where I got it from.

Love you Mom….

Happy Mother’s Day!

I wanted to wish all the mothers out there a very happy mother’s day.

The prominent relationship that is always with us is the one we share with our mother. They are our guiding force and are normally responsible for making us who we are. Mothers also shape our lives and personalities and while there is a major holiday celebrating mothers, we all have our own individual way of saying thank you these amazing people in our lives.

As a single parent & former “house husband” I know I appreciate everything that a mother goes through. So today we celebrate and honor all mothers and express gratitude for the hardships they bear in bringing up a child.

So today, I again thank my Mom, who I love very much and always will. Without her guidance & nurturing, I have no earthly idea what kind of person I’d be or where I would have ended up. She has shown me that strength, perseverance, & a good heart will carry you through life with dignity. That generosity & giving of yourself, even when you really don’t have it to give, will be returned to you in spades.

There’s a line I just love from the movie ‘The Crow‘; “Mother is the name for God on the lips and hearts of all children” & for many of us…it’s true!

So, Happy Mother’s Day & remember to honor you mother…who without her you’d be someone else (pun intended)!

Happy Thanksgiving Everyone!

Happy ThanksgivingJust wanted to take time out to wish a Happy Thanksgiving to everyone out there.

Luckily I’m not on the road, so I’ll be able to enjoy a home-cooked meal. Hell, this just might be the year I try to really cook a meal! NAH!!!

So…here’s to you having a wonderful Thanksgiving with family and friends and that you are able to be thankful for their love, as well as knowing that wealth isn’t just money.

I know personally I can’t even begin to list all that I am thankful for in my life.
