MDA Alaska District Needs Your Phone Skillz
As most everyone knows, Labor Day also includes the Jerry Lewis MDA Telethon.
While the grand festivities will be going on in beautiful Las Vegas, there will be local telephone support as well.
MDA, Alaska District needs your help to fill in holes & to be there for the people manning the phones for things like bathroom breaks, etc.
Free food & depending on circumstances, you might get to be on TV!

Come out for Family Ties Foundation Monte Carlo Night!
A good friend of mine is having a fund raiser for his foundation – Family Ties Foundation. The foundation is to assist the wounded warrior & their families as they transition back from combat.

Dear Friends,
As you know, Family Ties Foundation, is a 501(c)3, non-profit, non-partisan charitable organization created to provide immediate financial support for the families of Wounded Warriors deployed in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom or Operation Enduring Freedom. Everyday military families are faced with financial hardships while coping with the trauma and stress of a Wounded Warrior. Our mission is to alleviate, as much as possible, the initial financial difficulties endured on a daily basis by the family, while our Wounded Warriors recover from injuries sustained during Combat Operations.
This year we are focusing our fundraising effort in Anchorage and Eagle River, AK. Here are some details,
Who: Your business sponsoring a ‘Monte Carlo Casino Night’
What: Help raise funds for Wounded Warrior Families
When: 9/11/09 7 – 12 pm
Where: VFW Post 9785, Eagle River, AK
Why: To raise funds for the families of Wounded Warriors, to raise awareness about the need to help those families, and to celebrate our remembrance of those who died on 9/11 at the hands of Terrorist.
How: With your help; We want you to sponsor one of the many game tables at the ‘Monte Carlo Casino Night’, a minimum of $500 per table, for as many table as you want. Your donation will be tax-deductible.
This is a call to action; we believe that we are all of the same mindset, whether you agree with the War on Terror or not, we need to support those who willingly sacrifice to keep our country free.
