A Benefit Bake Sale!!

On June 1, 2009 a fire in a neighbor’s house spread and completely destroyed “The Pink House” and all of its contents. All family members made it out safely, but all their possessions were lost. Insurance will help, but it has not been cut-and-dry for restoring and replacing the 100 year old Juneau landmark and the family’s belongings.

This bake sale will be a great opportunity to gain some friends, some sweets and help a good cause. Proceeds to benefit the Stanley family rebuild their lives and their home. While it was the Anchorage Area Twitter community that sparked this, by no means do you need to be a Twitter user to participate.

Also if you aren’t able to attend the August 29 bake sale, you can still contribute by visiting http://www.basinroad.com and clicking the donate button or dropping donations by Alaska USA and making a donation to the “Pink House Donation Fund”.

A generous offer has been made to match any cash raised on-site between 1pm and 2:30pm dollar for dollar up to $1000…so come early come often.
