Bailouts Without Regulation Is FREE MONEY

I’ve been noticing that so many people are upset that these companies getting bailout money are spending it, well, frivolously for want of a better word.

500K for retreats, 50M for a new corporate jet, 20M in bonuses, etc.

I never blogged the bailout, as I didn’t want to even begin to want go into why I felt it was a bad idea to begin with. Lending money to people who squander money is simply not a good thing. In “regular guy” terms you don’t lend money to the guy who wants to borrw from you because he’s about to get his ass handed back to him for being unable to pay what he owes to someone else.

The Government should not and have not tried to become a bank. It’s a pretty common knowledge that our government isn’t very good at managing it’s money (if you recall, we’ve lost over NINE BILLION in Iraq alone: http://edition.cnn.com/2005/WORLD/meast/01/30/iraq.audit/) and we also know that our government isn’t too smart with laws (my personal favorite is that you can have Marijuana for medicinal purposes, but REGARDLESS it’s illegal to obtain it) either.

So Mr. President, Vice-President, ad-nauseam – I know you’re new to the offices of station and all – but reports are you’re not going to do much yourselves on this topic other than bitch
(http://www.reuters.com/article/newsOne/idUSTRE50U0R320090131).

So how’s about we agree to do this as Americans….you and your administration slap some FUCKIN’ regulations on these assholes including some jail time if necessary and we’ll do the bitching about what’s being done with our, our children’s, and our grand children’s money!

Having Fun At The Office….

Today, one of our clients came by with his mini camera and decided to do a quick test. Since he’s in advertising he sounded great and I sound like crap!

Either way…enjoy the video!

We’re on Volcano Watch!

Looks like activity is increasing for Mt. Redoubt again: http://www.avo.alaska.edu/

I wanted to remind everyone to have the following on hand should we succumb to ash fall.

  • Add a pair of goggles and disposable breathing mask for each member of the family to your volcano disaster kit.
  • Drinkable water for three days (about 1.5 gallons if you follow the 8 glasses a day rule)
  • Food for about three days…canned food in case the power is off!
  • Spare air filter for your automobile.

There’s lots more and rather try to write it all down her, I’ll just let the experts speak to it themselves:

Hopefully Redoubt doesn’t blow, but this is good reminder to just simply be prepared for this (and other events).

Decided NOT To Do An About Page

Instead I did a “Why TWO Blogs?” page.

Reason being is I pretty much write about myself, so I have to kind of question the need for an “About Me” on a personal blog (I am sharing myself already thanks to the “Karl” category).

I guess I could have done a FAQ instead, but again what would I put up that isn’t there already? I mean…I guess a FAQ might be good thing as it would have the answers to the pressing questions, but honestly what would be pressing questions for this blog?!?!? My shoe size? How many bedrooms in my condo?

    Sorry…digressing again.

Either way this seems to be the pressing question amongst readers, so that’s what/why I did it.

    Enjoy!

    This Is An AWESOME Photo!

    And that’s no joke!

    http://www.davidbergman.net/blog/2009/01/22/how-i-made-a-1474-megapixel-photo-during-president-obamas-inaugural-address/

Professional photographer Dave Bergman used a tool called Gigapan and created this 2GB (that’s NOT a typo…2 gigabytes). It’s made up of 220 photos and is over 1400 megapixels!

Already, I’ve found such people as Denzel Washington who is standing during the speech as well as the people at the top of the adjacent buildings in parkas (it’s THAT DETAILED).

It really gives a better scope of haw many people attended this event.

    An Afternoon With Walt Monegan

As many of you know, I’m an outgoing guy but it takes a lot to impress me enought to seriously consider someone an immediate friend.

Most of the time, when I meet someone I tend to enjoy their company but in the words of the late George Carlin I stay “guardedly well.” I try to get to know the person better and let the relationship develop.

Case in point, how many of you know a) where I live and/or b) what my place looks like beyond the front door? This has nothing to do with any “child trauma” or “psycological issue.” I simply believe that my home is a place of solitude to be myself with myself where I can be whatever I need to be without anyone interfering.

    OK…I’m digressing here.

So today I was attending the Alaska Alliance’s Meet Alaska Tradeshow (a Soirée for Oil industry businesses and vendors can meet and network), and among the meny people who came by our booth was Walt Monegan.

Many of you will remember his sensational situation with our Govenor Palin know as “Troopergate” (read here if you are unfamiliar:
    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Walt_Monegan).

    karl-and-walt-monegan.jpg

There were a couple of things that I immediately came to like about the man:

    • His humility. In the face of all the hulabaloo he maintains a simple dictim – that situation is in the past and isn’t anything to discuss.
    • His openess. He was easily approachable and genuine in his interest.
    • He’s cool! He shared stories of his days as a young man, his time walking the beat as a patrolman and other anecdotes.

I likened him to that nice gentleman that lives in your neighborhood. That guy that would instantly welcome you to the neighborhood, loan you a snow shovel, etc.

    Simply…a very nice man.

I also learned he is running for Mayor and have now found my candidate: http://www.moneganformayor.com/

    He made my day.

I just HAD To Post This – Obama Is Nailin’ Palin Video!

Obama is Nailin PailinI have not done any posting regarding “adult” category in a VERY long time! Mainly because I consider these things no longer post worthy (there are enough blogs devoted to that specific category, what could I possibly talk about!?!?) for the visison I have for the future of my blog.

That in mind, however, I had to post about Hustler Video’s Obama is Nailin Pailin

I also had to watch the thing (the only part of this that I actually regret).

As expected, the video is severely lacking in plot and the segment is just one of six “shorts” that are…well…YOU know <shrug> porn.

Also, I have to say that I haven’t watched porn in a while and have to wonder about all the spitting and choking in the video…I guess I’m just old fashoned in my expectations of what a porn video should contain.

Anyways…the reason I wanted to post this was – besides the obviously HILARIOUS title – the absolutely HILARIOUS plot that this video has: Sarah Palin, upset about her loss as VP,  drives out into the desert and fantasizes about a white knight (President Barack Obama) coming to “comfort” her in her time of need.

I guess it takes the porn industry to show us that, in the end, the Left and Right can come together!

    Padump-bump……
