Goodbye PostNuke!

Hello WordPress!

The decision to change software was simple…PostNuke has a exploit (users register and SPAM using the comments that hide the SPAM from the casual eye and current comment SPAM tools) that was simply driving me nuts and there is no expected fix coming from the developers. They are considering it for the next revision after the one due out. My issue is that it’s taken nearly three years for this major revision and this exploit is at the core of PN.

There are, of course, several hacks but the problem with hacks is that whenever an update or change comes out it may affect the hack…badly even.

Sorry folks but I just can’t wait that long.

Frankly it will be easier since my site is truly just a BLOG when you come right down to it. Less problems…less code and hopefully LESS SPAM. I’ve already been using WordPress on hogbiker.com anyways with great success (as well as my condo site I run amongst others).

There is still lost of conversion work so please, please, PLEASE bear with me as I tidy up.

Borat destroyed their marriage!?!?

In case you weren’t counting, Pamela Anderson and Kid Rock’s marriage lasted 121 days.

Reason for the breakup after only four months and one day?

Yep…while Gays are destroying America, Borat is out there destroying marital bliss in Hollywood.

According to reports, Kid Rock was shocked and dismayed that the premise of the movie was Borat’s real reason for making the documentary was to find, marry and make “sexy time love” to Pamela Anderson!

So my question to Mr. Kid Rock would be….

Marrying arguably, the most celebrated sex symbol of the last decade, why would it suprise you that there aren’t men who would love to make “sexy time love” to your wife???

I mean c’mon dude….Comedy Central paid $125,000 to PETA to get Pamela Anderson to do a roast in her honor (and the sales of the Uncensored DVD did not meet the demand for this show).

You kind of want to crawl into the head of Kid Rock to see if there is even cobwebs up there!

To blame a movie premise is just ridiculous. To somehow think that this makes you wife somehow tainted (as I remind you of your sex tape out there bro) is beyond my comprehension.

Guess next time I’m going by the Hollywood trailer park, I’ll have to do a coffee with you and KFed (or now that he is split up with Brittany – do we call him FedEx?).

I guess it’s time to admit I’m a Libertarian!

I guess for 2006 and beyond if you’re conservative and NOT GAY then you’re a Libertarian….

At least that’s my thinking.

I have come to this conclusion/revelation because I believe it connects deeply to the Republican ousting in this last congressional/senate elections (and most likely the presidential party moniker will change as well in 2008). The Republicans lost because they came to represent the opposite of everything they were supposed to be for. Competent? Nope. Spendthrift? Hardly. Ethical? Riiiiiiiight!

Of course, the last straw (for most of us moderates) was when the party that was at least supposed to be carrying the torch for the homophobes of middle America turned out to be a closet full of repressed flamers.

Please don’t get me wrong, the Gay issue to me is ridiculous. There is war, famine, poverty and other ills to worry about that Gay shouldn’t come into play (hey that rhymed)! People are what they are and according to the bible that I read…I’m supposed to love and respect that (and I do vehemently) in ALL people. Like I say at my church, if we ostracize the Gay/Lesbian community then how can we show them the example we are supposed to set as Christians?!?!?

I guess the “Bush legacy” (aka religious right) will be that, despite their oh-so-holy pretenses, they made politics not cleaner, but dirtier. I guess it’s because when you’re so sure you’re right, you wind up acting so wrong. Case in point: read the plight of an exchange student’s six months of hell with a Christian fundamentalist family – http://www.spiegel.de/international/0,1518,448350,00.html.

And there in lies the problem (back to my old argument, whichever side wins…we loose).

Once the Left has been in power for so long we will see the same things stem from them too….

It’ll just have a more….heterosexual bent (based upon previous experience).

No matter which party wins, we continue to loose…

There are common reasons that indicate a businesses is having problems:

  • Misreading or ignoring market trends
  • Focusing more on competitors than customers
  • Confusing management with leadership, tactics with strategy
  • Promoting leaders who misunderstand their jobs and surround themselves with blind loyalists
  • Destroying employee confidence with limited or no communication from management
