Finally, a site with succinct, accurate answers to the all the bullshit
spouted by the anti-gun idiots. Just remember to not let reading the "myths"
get to you. It’s worth reading, especially if you’re like me and just wish
you had the right information to rebut the myth.
It’s why I love shows like National Geographic’s Hollywood Science series
where real science is bounced against Hollywood "magic."
"Man is not free unless government is limited…. As government expands,
liberty contracts" – Ronald Regan (more…)
Another Christian who also feels as I do about the overuse of "God’s plan"
(or the “What would Jesus do [WWJD]?†rhetoric), in politics makes me realize I’m not so
alone after all. Jesus brought with him a radical vision of the reign of heaven
that did not subscribe to any political platform
then or now. This article makes the good point that we, unlike
Jesus, are not God and therefore we, in our humanity, cannot and should not
emulate some of the thing he did. Not even the Gospels do justice to the divine-human fullness of Jesus.
But in their symbols and language, they capture the faith Jesus hoped humanity
would live by.
I was taught we are coming out of an ice age, so…wouldn’t it be expected that temperatures will rise and ice will melt?
This humble human is still waiting to be sensibly told how we humans can DESTROY the Earth (we might be able to destroy our ability to survive, but we CAN NOT destroy a planet — yet)! I challenge people to read Ray Bradbury’s
“There Will Come Soft Rains” specifically the last paragraph which reminds us that even if we send our race into oblivion, this planet will still circle the sun.
When did environmentalism become anti-civilization? When did corporations become the evil against the environment? How do these new environmentalists believe we can go back to some naive vision of supposedly utopian existence in a
garden of Eden, with no more chemicals, no more technology, and certainly no more synthetic clothes. Has modern humanity forgotten the days when people lived to an average age of 35, all the items you possessed were created by your own hand (i.e. you home) and if the environment got bad for more than a year, most of the community DIED?
We’re also seem to have taken a turn back to the old ways of science where if there is a differing viewpoint, the person(s) are inherently wrong for coming up with a differing theory than the established norm and it’s all part of the “Vast
Right-Wing Conspiracy” who want to destroy the earth outright <insert evil echoing laugh here>.
Once again Hollywood shows that when you give "star power" freedom to people,
they screw it up. The Wachowski Brothers didn’t do a great job in this version.
It’s anti-government sentiment was evident (similar to movies like
Equilibrium), but the message was tainted at best. Like, Schwarzenegger’s
"Last Action Hero" giving someone carteblanche is not always a good thing.
I had hoped for a thinking film like the Matrix series where a brilliant concept
sparked real thought, but instead we’re fed a simple premise with childish
villains reminiscent of the 50′s anti-soviet bloc movies where the government is
inherently corrupt with gleeful abuses of power by the leaders/soldiers/secret
police/sympathizers.
Once again we are subjected to more of the new EXTREME LEFT (extreme left
= socialism / extreme right = fascism)/Gay
Agenda hard at work. I am not in favor of government censure of liberty, but
to show homosexuals as the main persecuted group in the film…give me a
break. England…the first country to go against the great
Catholic Church decides to become a fundamentalist nation when the world
collapses around them?!?!?
Is being SUPER LEFT the new fanaticism in America? Recent
movies (another one being "Good Night and Good Luck" – or as I call it…Good
Night and Sleep Tight) are showing Hollywood’s continuing inability to deliver a relevant social message. (more…)
Come out & see the planes fly tomorrow at Arctic Thunder. Do this in honor of the lost crew. We will be honoring them...you should too. http://twitter.com/hogbiker15 mins ago
