Even though I went ahead and upgraded to PN 7.60, I’ve come to really like
the CMS Drupal (www.drupal.org)
and am seriously thinking of switching over.
There are several reason for converting:
Unlike Postnuke, which is still not at version 1 yet, Drupal is on version
4.6 so it’s a more mature tool.
Drupal’s management of content is also easier to understand and manage.
To Drupal, EVERYTHING is a document (html, images, attachments,
etc) so the structure of the content makes more sense.
Drupal uses ADO so it can be attached to ANY database, even Microsoft
Access (though I would highly recommend anything else
<shudder>).
Themes are easier to dissect and build. It’s pretty much contained
in the CSS so changing colors and look is a breeze.
Modules – Oh my GAWD are there at ton of them!
User access management is simpler too (for those trying to figure out
permissions in Postnuke…I am feeling it with you).
Overall though, I’d just like to have a simpler CMS tool. Honestly,
this is just a blog and so all I need is a good blog tool.
I’ll keep everyone appraised as I’m seriously thinking this will be my winter

Well Lena has arrived and is safely in Kushiro, Japan. I will assume
that she is doing well as she has not updated her blog yet. She
will be there for a year (at least) and is well on her way to becoming a
successful young woman. A father could not be more proud of her.
Of course I am equally proud of the boys also <grin>.
These are the sites of the Westboro Baptist Church, better known as "God
Hates Fags" and "God Hates America", owned by Fred Phelps. This site and church
participants seems to be pretty badly unhinged.
I don’t even need to say anything…I’ll just let you read their
feelings/beliefs in their own words (however I did correct their spelling
errors, I just couldn’t stand it):

I sometimes find myself having a small chuckle at web sites which really should
appall and offend me. The usual reason for this is that something is so
outrageous that the site starts to look like parody. These sites are
actually less dangerous than the ones which present bigotry or lies in a calm,
dispassionate manner, but they often attract a lot of attention.
Private Web Hosting touts themselves as a "a private membership organization
for straight, white, non-jews."
I guess if you can have adult web hosting…why not this? While I’m all for ‘freedom of speech’ this is definitely a hate-mongering
website. Please understand…I believe in and support free speech and
detest political correctness, however we must also work to remove
this kind of hate-mongering. After all, even an adult host doesn’t
dissuade fetish.
Also, if this is something they’re proud of why don’t they promote the sites
they host?
