Did I mention I got a new pistol?

Picked up a SCREAMING deal at the gun shop (it’s so cool to have a gun shop next to the office). I just got a NIB (New In Box) .40 caliber Smith & Wesson SW40VE:
http://firearms.smith-wesson.com/store/index.php3?cat=293586
. It isn’t “too much” gun and it isn’t a pea shooting .22 either. This gun only weighs 24 ounces and is 7″ long. It holds 10 rounds (working on finding the 14 round extended clip). It lists for just under $400. The price at my store was $299 and with my in store 10% discount (sale on all handguns in stock) I picked it up for $270!

I’ve already put 50 rounds down range (180 grain american eagle rounds) and she handled like a dream. Action is smooth and even for a ‘leftie’ like myself I didn’t get the shells flying at me like my Kimber 1911 45 caliber.

Still have yet to find a Glock I like, however the Glock 21 I tried wasn’t half bad!

This has become my ‘what’s that noise?’ pistol to go in headboard holster.

Getting tired of the DAMN snow!

Getting tired of this cold front that has moved in. We had 40+ degrees last week and now we’re getting snow and subzero temperatures again.

Isn’t March supposed to be ‘in like the lion, out like the lamb’?!?!?

I had my driveway almost clear enough to get the bike out! There were supposed freinds of mine that were already able to get some mile in.

You’d think the least these people would do is not drive or stop by…especially after picking up my new S&W 40cal!

That’s it! I’m telling my Mom to stop sending them money to be my friends!

Oh well. I guess I can still do some polishing and starting up the bike till it’s warm enough again. At least I’m not like Tom and doing the 15′ drive back and forth in my garage!

Please…stop the MADNESS!!!!

I recieved a disturbing email from some friends this week containing an IMPORTANT powerpoint presentation (download this powerpoint slide presentation).

Did it FRIGHTEN you?
Good. That’s what it was designed to do.

I have a problem with this, not because it doesn’t have some truth to it (http://www.wired.com/news/privacy/0,1848,55999,00.html) or anything like that, but because people are again jumping to conclusions regarding the bible.

Before the "chips" it was the barcode (anyone remember that one?) that was going to be ‘The Mark of the Beast’:

http://www.av1611.org/666.html
.

Guess the Beast in the 21st Century is
more "techno savvy."

Reading the bible as I have (and am in the process of doing again), you find LOTS of references to things that could be construed, based upon interpretation, as "signs."

Stop for a minute and look at the simple logistics of something like this:

  1. More than 6 billion people and over 100 nations would have to willingly succumb to this.
  2. If you believe the eco-nazis the earth will expire in 2050 (http://observer.guardian.co.uk/international/story/0,6903,750783,00.html).
  3. Whom (as in what government(s)/agency) would be able to mobilize enough resources to pull this off?  In a simple time frame it would take decades to perform as people are being born every second!

The smart thing would be to start with children being born and make it work from there.  Ask a youngster what an "album" or "45" is.  Be impressed if the young person knows since they have been out of circulation for more than 20 years.
In time, these children wouldn’t know any better about having a chip in their
body as it would become part of "normal" society.

<sigh>

I get tired of Christians using fear as the basis to get you to become a Christian and keep you Christian.
My ancestry teaches me that Jamaicans were slaughtered if they did not convert to Catholicism.

The Bible tells us a great man tried to teach people that if you love one another unconditionally,
so you won’t need "commandments" or live in fear (from even death itself).

What did we do this great man?  Tortured him and nailed him to a tree!

What has his followers done ever since?  Killed and instilled fear to get people to believe his teachings.

It’s why I discount people who quote the old testament to promote their stand in
arguments. The old testament is a tool to guide towards a better understanding of Christ and his teachings (the new testament).  That is, we do not "read into" the Old Testament meanings that are not there (although, of course, this is done quite regularly). Rather we "read out" of it its full meaning as revealed by Christ in the New Testament.

St. Augustine said it best: "The New Testament is latent in the Old; the Old Testament becomes patent in the New."

So have I too scared (or more likely offended) you?

I will never discount the Bible, but I will discount a select group of people who use it to instill fear.

Always remember Chick publications and how they promote the "Love and
Wonder" of Christ’s majesty.

DAMN…I guess Krispy Kremes are just that good!

http://www.thechamplainchannel.com/wnne/2924236/detail.html

So what the hell?!?!?

The gym teacher throws a knife after students threaten to take away his
donuts.  Was this guy a retire cop or something?!?!?

Wow.  I’d always liked Dunkin donuts myself and only had a Krispy Kreme
a couple of times.

Wonder what’s going to happen when they come out with their healthy
donuts (http://www.cnn.com/2004/HEALTH/03/12/krispy.kreme.ap/)?
Scrapping weight watchers in the parking lot?

Guess we better start packin’ when we go to the donut shop (no pun
intended
).

Damn…I can’t even begin make this shit up!

Virus files are NOT from us!

The beagle virus (e.g., 32.BEAGLE@MM WORM) is “spoofing” email domain names across the internet and leray.org and leray.us are not immune. We are now actively blocking these messages, however, you may have already received one in your Inbox.

The virus is sending email that appears to have been sent by leray.org and leray.us alerting subscribers of potential problems with their mail server and asking them to download an attachment.

Do not download this attachment – instead delete messages that fit this description.

If you receive any suspicious messages, before downloading attachments please go to w32.beagle">
http://securityresponse.symantec.com/avcenter/venc/data/w32.beagle and download their repair tool. If you have downloaded the virus then DEFINATELY get the tool!
